California Citrus Nursery Society 2010 Annual Conference

California Citrus Nursery Society will hold its 2010 Annual Conference in Riverside on November 1st through 3rd. Our venue will be the Mission Inn Hotel. At the General Meeting we will have five speakers making six presentations on topics ranging from good buds versus bad buds to the status of Asian Citrus psyllid and Huanglongbing in Mexico. Tours will take us to places of interest to people interested in citrus, such as the Citrus Variety Collection, the Citrus Research Board's new laboratory, UC Riverside's Citrus Breeding Program, trees with good buds and bad buds, and the Citrus Clonal Protection Program's renovated facilities at Mt. Rubidoux. We will also have a behind-the-scenes tour of the Mission Inn Hotel. Our banquet speaker will be David Karp speaking on "Unforbidden Fruit."

Dates Finalized for 9th ISCN Congress

President Francisco Llatser has announced the preliminary dates for the 9th Congress of ISCN for June 2011.

a. June 1-5 pre-Congress tour of Uruguay.
b. June 6-8 Congress in Tucuman, Argentina.
c. June 9-14 post-Congress Chile.

Please mark your calendars and pass the word to citrus enthusiasts that may want to attend. The Congress will have scientific presentations related to the citrus nursery business as well as workshops led by master nurserymen from around the world. It will be an opportunity to network with old friends and make new ones. A new generation of young nurserymen is emerging and ISCN is preparing itself to offer training to insure the lessons learned over the past 2 generations continues to grow and expand.
